Get things SoonR!

Welcome to the SoonR Blog!
I’m Martin and I am the CEO and Founder of SoonR.

Today is a big day in the history of SoonR. As you can see we are launching our new web-site and a new mobile interface. We wanted to create an exciting and user-friendly experience, so we hope you like it. Both the web-site and mobile site will continue to evolve so keep checking for updates.

The other big news is that we are launching SoonR Talk today. We are very excited about this latest feature of the service – yes, we see the SoonR service consisting of various features, just like a regular cell-phone plan , and SoonR Talk is the latest offering. Like many start-ups we have been using Skype as our internal communication tool, it is just a life-saver when you have people located all over the world. But people don’t sit in front of their PCs all day and night, they are mobile. How can I Skype when I am away from my PC?

Skype Away on your phone.

Skype is not just talking, but also seeing presence information, chatting and exchanging information in general . With SoonR Talk, all that is possible on ANY phone with a browser and without installing any software on the phone.

How did we do this? We basically have the PC act as ‘your personal switchboard’ controlled from the mobile phone. I can use any data-capable hand-set that’s connected to SoonR, to instruct my PC to make a Skype-out call back to myself and then in turn call the other people I want to talk to. The beauty here is that uses the mobile voice-network and not the data-network so it works great (voice quality) even with slower data-networks like 2.5G.

I can now sit and sip a latte down in Palo Alto and talk to the team in Denmark leveraging Skype back on my PC at the house and it only costs a few cents for the SkypeOut to my phone.

More than just (SoonR) Talk. SoonR’s ability to leverage Skype on the PC is just one more example of how we make the power of the PC available on the phone and let people communicate in new and exciting ways.

Try SoonR today and let us know what you think! It’s free and it delivers the power of your PC to your phone. We hope you enjoy SoonR.
